Kickstarter Campaign
Kickstarter Campaign
Strange that this topic is not even discussed here? And that on AQ forum they are even talking about creating an LBNA forum page for discussion of LBNA issues? I guess this talk list is pretty much considered dead to the world.

Not dead. Just very quiet.I check this list daily. Although I don't contribute much I still consider it the foremost talk list.

Re: Kickstarter Campaign
Altho I don't use LBNA as much as AQ LB has it's place. When I have to limit my time boxing in just
one town I use LB as it gives more specific search locations.

Re: Kickstarter Campaign
I was surprised it wasn't mentioned here, too, but I guess most letterboxers talk on AQ so webmasters figured it would be seen by more people there. I never post there but when I heard there was talk of Ryan taking over LBNA I had to give my 2¢. Glad to see the campaign is successful and LBNA can remain a nonprofit letterboxing website thanks to the efforts of Choi and others. Also glad this group is not dead, or at least full of talkative ghosts.

I think there would be even more donations if a message was put on the home page of letterboxing.org

Actually I suspect many of the donations were made based on local Yahoo message boards and Facebook LB groups. As far as I can tell, the Texas Yahoo board and the Great Lakes Yahoo board are the only two that are still active and the major source of communication in those regions.

In the early days I met so many wonderful friends thru this list. I'm kinda
glad some of the AQ newbies don't know it's here.

I won't do AQ, you've touched on one of the reasons why, I'm glad to hear you spoke up. Thank you.

Re: [LbNA] Kickstarter Campaign
I agree and have been worried that LBNA would eventually die and go away, along with all my clues. I understand that many new letterboxers prefer AQ, but to not even use or know about LBNA just seems wrong. When AQ was first created with its own database of clues, I was afraid it would cause a schism in the letterbox community, but I never dreamed it would take over. I am so glad Choi and other webmasters are continuing to keep LBNA functional for us traditionalists.

RE: [LbNA] Kickstarter Campaign
I always list my boxes in both locations and when I find a box on AQ that is not on LB.org I send a message to the planter suggesting that they use LB.org as well.
I love the simple set up of LB.org. No fuss, no other stuff, just clues.

I still encourage new letterboxers to use Silent Doug's letterboxing.info as a resource to learn about letterboxing!

They had links to our boxes that went back to our own blog. And there was the letterboxing webring where folks put their clues on their own websites. Personally, my cousins & I really liked the variety back then. Maybe a few folks' websites still exist, but I don't know how many people even know about them anymore.

Re: Kickstarter Campaign
Apparently it is dead. I got a "sorry, can't find" message when I clicked on the link, or typed it out. I also tried other links in active Lb sites: none of them worked, no matter how it was referenced. Perhaps Silent Doug will respond directly?
